"My decision to pursue postgraduate studies was greatly influenced by the academic environment at ISEC," – an ISEC graduate, Nona Gyulambaryan
December 1, 2023Nona Gyulambaryan is a graduate student of ISEC’s Educational Management Master’s Degree Program. We spoke with Nona about postgraduate studies, education management and other issues.
-What impact did your education at the International Scientific-Educational Center of NAS RA have on your life?
-First of all, I would like to express my gratitude to all the instructors of ISEC for imparting deep fundamental knowledge in education management. My life changed significantly and I was able to achieve new heights thanks to my studies at ISEC. For that reason, I made the decision to continue my scientific career here, collaborating with top professionals.
-Why did you decide on the ISEC’s Master's Program in Education Management?
-I am a philologist by my first profession, but years ago, I made the decision to pursue management as a new career. Since I had worked in the education sector for many years and I understood exactly that I wanted to continue my education, so looked for specialties and educational programs offered by Armenian universities that would combine both management and education. That's how I enrolled in the ISEC’s Master's degree in Education Management.
-In your opinion, what function does education management currently serve?
-The importance of education management in today's academic environment means that a deficiency in management abilities will undoubtedly reduce the level of quality of work produced. In my opinion, all specialists who hold positions of responsibility within educational institutions have a duty to continuously enhance their professional skills by gaining new knowledge that is crucial to becoming an experienced specialist. I have always made an effort to fulfill all of the requirements of a teacher as much as I could, and my career choice has enabled me to do so.
-What most impressed you during your years of study at ISEC?
-I was impressed by the respectful and caring attitude towards the applicant, which was evident during the interview. It was headed by Yerjanik Zargaryan, the ISEC Deputy Director on Educational Affairs, and Atom Mkhitaryan, the ISEC Dean, who were very supportive and friendly, created a comfortable environment and provided a thorough explanation of any questions that came up. It should be also noted that this positive atmosphere persisted throughout the whole study period.
-And what enabled you to pursue your studies further in the ISEC post-graduate program?
-I made the decision to pursue my scientific journey at ISEC, which over time grew very close to me, after the academic environment there significantly influenced and helped me reconsider my professional abilities.
-What are your future plans and goals?
-First and foremost, I want to complete my dissertation as efficiently as I can and present it with dignity. The head of the ISEC’s Psychology Department, Naira Hakobyan, has contributed greatly to this work, and with her guidance, I am confident that I will be able to overcome every challenge I face in my scientific career.
-As an ISEC graduate, what career guidance would you give to ISEC master’s and post-graduate students?
-I advise them to seize the chance to gain more knowledge, never stop learning about this fascinating field of science, and use what they've learned to advance even more boldly and reach new heights.
