International Training at University of Parma, Italy

From 15 to 19 September 2014 the working team of ISEC NAS RA paid a working visit to the University of Parma, Italy. RA NAS ISEC members visited the Information Engineering Department of the University, where the participants were presented the history of distance learning at the University of Parma and the role of Information Engineering Department in distance learning.
Arusyak Harutyunyan, Head of Foreign Affairs Department at ISEC NAS RA, briefly presented the history of ISEC NAS RA, its current activities and particularly “Organizing Further Education Distance Learning at International Scientific Educational Center of NAS RA” project funded by the “Armenia Higher Education Competitive Innovation Fund” within the framework of the second loan programme of “Education Quality Assurance and Relevance” by “Center for Education Projects” of RA Ministry of Education and Science. The participants discussed the perspectives of further cooperation and opportunities to involve Information Engineering Department of the University in the project.
Then, ISEC working team visited UNIPR CoLab - Innovation Center for Teaching and Learning, which is located at the Department of Foreign Languages. During the meeting Prof. Maria Valero presented METAV Master online – 'Audiovisual Translation' and the features of organizing a completely online course.
Prof. Gilian Masnfield – the Chairman of the European Confederation of Language Centres in higher Education, presented the features of teaching languages online and technologically supported teaching of languages.
Vice Rector in General and Legal Affairs Francesca Zanella received the ISEC working group and Italian participants Prof. Anna Maria Tammaro and Prod. Francesco Zanichelli, where they discussed the opportunities for further collaboration in distance learning.
