The Cooperation between International Scientific Educational Center and National Information Center for Academic Recognition and Mobility
March 18, 2021On March 11, 2021, ISEC hosted Gayane Harutyunyan, the Director of the National Information Center for Academic Recognition and Mobility (ArmEnic). The purpose of the visit was to introduce more closely the activities of both Centers, to establish cooperation and to discuss the current problems in the field of higher education.
For short note, ArmEnic fosters the implementation of higher education reforms and common values of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) in Armenia, facilitates to visibility and internationalisation of the Armenian higher education and academic mobility, promotes academic and professional mobility, and conducts research on topics concerning higher education. ArmEnic provides reliable information and advice on various education systems and national qualifications to local and foreign institutions as well as individuals.
During the meeting, the Head of the Foreign Affairs Department, Arusyak Harutyunyan, made a presentation about the history of the International Scientific Educational Center, talked about the specifics of the structural and educational process of the Center, introduced the achievements and the challenges it is currently confronting with.
Gayane Harutyunyan presented the principles of filling in the diploma supplement so that to make it more competitive in the international arena. The Parties agreed on the joint revision of the ISEC Diploma Supplement by reflecting the credits earned by the students during their International Credit Mobility (ICM) and on-line courses.
Since ISEC Participates in Erasmus+ project "Reforming Doctoral Education in Armenia in Line with Needs of Academia, Industry and Current EU Practices" (ARMDOCT) and coordinates the working group on "Degree Awarding", ISEC Dean, Atom Mkhitaryan presented the work which has been done so far within the working group.
Gayane Harutyunyan presented the comparability and recognition practice of academic doctoral qualifications in Armenia. The Parties agreed on holding a new meeting to discuss the final version of the document developed by the working group.
