Strengthening Partnership with the University of Veliko Tarnovo in Bulgaria

From April 17 to 21, the International Scientific-Educational Center of NAS RA hosted a delegation from St. Cyril and St. Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo (Bulgaria). The delegation was led by Prof. Miroslav Galabov, Vice-Dean of the university's Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics, as well as lecturers Milena Stefanova and Tihomir Stefanov.
The working visit started with a meeting with Armen Sargsyan, the director of the International Scientific-Educational Center of NAS RA, during which issues related to strengthening bilateral relations, prospects for inter-university cooperation and the implementation of mobility programs for students and teachers were discussed. An agreement on bilateral cooperation was signed between the ISEC NAS RA and the University of Veliko Tarnovo in Bulgaria aimed at the implementation of joint educational programs.
During their meeting with students of the Master degree programs in "Tourism Management" and "Business Administration" of the ISEC's Department of Economics and Management, the delegation members presented the main goals and opportunities available to international students at the University of Veliko Tarnovo.
Members of the delegation were given a tour of the Aerospace Engineering Department of ISEC, located in the Engineering City, as well as the Department of Computer Science and Autonomous Systems, where research-based learning opportunities were demonstrated.
Miroslav Galabov, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics of the University of Veliko Tarnovo, delivered a lecture on "Virtual Reality" for the students of the Information Systems Development part-time Master Program at the Instigate Group - Scientific Research Center, where the Department of Computer Science and Autonomous Systems is located.
Members of the delegation also visited the Museum of Science and Technology in the Engineering City, where they got acquainted with the engineering industry, scientific and technical achievements, inventions, innovations and the history of scientific mind in Armenia, revealing Armenian potential and contribution in the field of world science.
It should be reminded that in 2023, within the framework of the international week organized at the University of Veliko Tarnovo in Bulgaria, the ISEC director Armen Sargsyan had a meeting with the rector of the university Dimitar Dimitrov, during which the prospects for joint cooperation were discussed and it was decided to sign a new cooperation agreement in addition to the current inter-institutional one in order to strengthen the institutional foundation of the partnership. International Scientific-Educational Center of NAS RA is currently taking part in the international credit mobility program with St.Cyril and St.Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo in Bulgaria, within the framework of which academic mobility of students and teaching staff will be carried out.
