Seminar Discussion on "Information Hygiene in the Media Space"

Initiated by the Public Relations and Career Department of the International Scientific-Educational Center of NAS RA, a seminar discussion on "Information Hygiene in the Media Space" took place on November 24. The seminar was led by the president of the Armenian PR-Association, Associate Professor of the YSU Faculty of Journalism, Ph.D., Astghik Avetisyan. Students from the ISEC and other Armenian universities attended the seminar.
The goal of the meeting was to help students become more adept at accessing, analyzing, and classifying media messages; to draw attention to the propaganda techniques, distortions of the facts, the opportunities and risks of digital environment; and, ultimately, to help students apply critical thinking and develop media literacy.
Throughout the discussion, Astghik Avetisyan covered a number of crucial topics related to information hygiene, including how to handle false information, identify the source of information, and distinguish between fact and opinion.
The seminar was concluded with a question-and-answer session regarding media literacy behavior.
