"The professionalism of the Faculty of Law and the comprehensive curriculum provide students with the opportunity to receive high-quality academic education." ISEC graduate Nonna Hambardzumyan
Nonna Hambardzumyan is one of this year's graduates of the master's program in Law at the International Scientific-Educational Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia. We spoke with Nonna about her education, professional growth, research work, and other related topics.
-Where did you earn your bachelor's degree and in what field?
In 2011, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Art History from the Yerevan State Academy of Fine Arts.
-Why did you decide to pursue master's program specifically at the Department of Law at ISEC?
"Although I have a deep passion for the field of art, I have always had a desire to pursue further studies and acquire a new profession. Transitioning from Art History to Law was not easy; it was a decision made over years, as I have worked in the legal field for nearly a decade. The decision to pursue a career in Law fueled even more when many of my friends, based on their own experiences, advised me to study at the International Scientific-Educational Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia (NAS RA). The numerous positive reviews about the Faculty made me pursue master’s program in Law at the center, and I am confident that I made the right choice."
-How has the education at ISEC contributed to your professional growth?
The professionalism of the Faculty of Law and the comprehensive curriculum provide students with a full opportunity to receive high-quality academic education and acquire the necessary knowledge to become successful professionals in the field of law.
-Where are you currently working, and what is the key to success at work?
I work at the Chamber of Advocates of the Republic of Armenia. I believe that the key to success is love and dedication to work. As the Chinese philosopher Confucius said: "Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life."
-You recently defended your master's thesis. What is the scope, and what is the significance of the topic?
The topic of my master's thesis is "Privileges in Law." The thesis raised issues concerning the possibility of deviating from the principle of legal equality, the connection of this principle with the principle of social justice, and the delimitation of legal means, such as privileges and immunities. I am hopeful that the research, conclusions, and recommendations presented in the thesis will serve as a doctrinal scientific source in the future due to their practical significance.
-What plans and goals do you have in the future?
I am still planning my next steps professionally. However, earning a degree in Law will certainly not be in vain.
