Scientific and Practical Conference Dedicated to the Armenian Language under the Auspices of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia

 On November 19 of this year, Armenian language specialists and other intellectuals interested in the current state and future of the Armenian language gathered in the small hall of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia. The reason for the association was the scientific and practical conference "The Armenian Language: the Main Trends of Its Development and Their Reflection in the Educational Process". The event was organized on the joint initiative and efforts of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia, the Institute of Linguistics named after H. Acharyan of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia and the International Scientific and Educational Center of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia, with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia.

The speakers of the conference were leading Armenian scientists, mostly linguists, with their popular science speeches, and the audience were teachers of the Armenian language.

The event was aimed at familiarizing teachers of the Armenian language with the modern experience of Armenian studies, challenges and solutions, which, one can say, was successfully implemented.

Scientific Secretary of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia, Head of the Department of Linguistics, Ph.D., Associate Professor Mary Sargsyan delivered a welcoming speech at the opening of the conference on behalf of the Center, stressing the importance of paying a special role to the Armenian language, its development and reflection in the educational process in a number of scientific and practical multi-sphere conferences. Emphasizing in her speech the need to form an academy-university-school ecosystem, as well as the importance of training qualified specialists in times of rapid development of the scientific and technical revolution, rapid updating of knowledge, rapid increase in scientific and scientific and technical information, M. Sargsyan touched upon the activities of the Department of Linguistics of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia. Speaking about the role and importance of the Armenian language in the era of globalization, M. Sargsyan mentioned the message-appeals of the great supporter of Armenian studies and the Armenian language, giants of science astrophysicist Viktor Ambartsumyan and space astrophysicist Grigor Gurzadian concerning the preservation of the Armenian language.

The conference was held in an atmosphere of constructive discussions, which, in the opinion of those present, will have a positive impact on the quality of teaching the Armenian language.
