Seminar-lecture on the Topic "Academic Social Networks as an Actual Researcher's Tool"
December 3, 2024On November 29, the next seminar-lecture on the topic "Academic social networks as an actual researcher's tool" was held at the ISEC. The seminar was conducted by the Scientific Secretary and the Head of the Department of Linguistics of the ISEC, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor Meri Sargsyan.
She touched upon the active use of social networks by the scientific community, attracting foreign partners through academic social networks and the process of popularizing personal scientific work. The academic search engines for identifying researchers ORCID and Google Scholar, the academic social media site ResearchGate, the academic databases Scopus and Web of Science, as well as the interactive ResearcherID platform were described in detail.
At the end of the meeting, the speaker noted that she was pleasantly surprised by the students' choice of such a topic for the seminar, expressing the hope that they would actively use the tools presented during the meeting.
The ISEC students expressed their gratitude to the speaker for a detailed and interesting presentation of a very important topic for a young researcher.
