Erasmus + Lectures: "MOOCs and Instruction Design" and "Urban Tourism"
September 23, 2021Within the framework of Erasmus + International Credit Mobility Program, two professors from the University of Naples Federico II (Italy), Rosanna de Rosa and Fabio Carbisiero on September 16th gave public lectures to the student community.
Rosanna de Rosa introduced the "Emma" MOOC (Massive Online Open Courses) plantform which was created in 2013 by the University of Naples in partnership with a large university, to support innovation in education. The professor briefly presented the history of the creation of the first MOOC platform, which began in 2008 as a large-scale pedagogical innovation launced by Siemens and Downs entitled "Mass Online Open Courses: Connectivism and Connective Knowledge" course (CCK08).
Fabio Carbisiero delivered a lecture on "Urban Tourism", in which urban tourism, viewed through sociologocal lens, and is now considered as a unique type of tourism which takes place in urban areas with its own features, characterized by non-agricultural economy, such as administration, manufacturing, trade and services. During the interactive lecture, the students actively discussed the challenges of urban tourism particularly planning and management issues, and suggested possible ways of solutions.
