The "English in an Academic Environment" Intensive Course Completed

From June 5 to July 10, the Department of Foreign Languages of the International Scientific- Educational Center of NAS RA organized a five-week intensive course "English in the Academic Environment", which was attended by members of the teaching and administrative staff of ISEC NAS RA and the personnel of the Institute of Literature named after M. Abeghyan of the RA National Academy of Sciences. The course was assigned 3 credits.
The course was conducted by the Head of the Chair of Foreign Languages of ISEC NAS RA, Ph.D. in Philological Sciences, Associate Professor Gohar Grigoryan, Lecturer with Ph.D. in Philological Sciences, Associate Professor Nvard Yernjakyan, Lecturer with Ph.D. in Philological Sciences, Associate Professor Sirarpi Karapetyan and Lecturer Lilit Manvelyan.
The course was designed to help participants develop their speaking and communicative language skills as well as their ability to interact with one another in a foreign language. The course's use of contemporary teaching techniques and the most recent English textbooks gave students the chance to improve their speaking, listening, reading, and writing abilities as well as to increase their vocabulary in the context of the subjects they were learning. Participants who successfully completed the course received certificates at the end, expressing their satisfaction with the efficient course organization and the acquisition of new knowledge.
Sustainable organization of a foreign language course for the ISEC teaching and administrative staff supports the growth of the capacity to apply the learned knowledge and abilities.
