Annual conference on building connections between the departments

On June 3, a seminar on the improvement of educational quality was held at the International Scientific-Educational Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia. The event was organized by the department responsible for ensuring the quality of education, with the participation of members of the ISEC NAS RA leadership and heads of departments.

The seminar was aimed at outlining the work implemented by the ISEC NAS RA departments during the academic year, as well as discussing the further connections between the departments.

Armen Sargsyan, the Director of ISEC NAS RA, welcomed participants and highlighted the importance of exchanging experiences among the heads of departments in fostering the best practices within the field.

Narine Vardanyan, the Head of the Quality Assurance Department at ISEC NAS RA, led a significant meeting aimed at coordinating joint efforts among the heads of departments. Such meetings provide opportunities for the heads of departments to present recent findings, inform about updates in educational programs' monitoring, implementation of PEPs, evaluation, and improvement processes. N. Vardanyan emphasized that these meetings foster the development of integrated scientific, research-oriented innovations that subsequently become active projects and are brought to life.

During the session, the heads of the departments presented the activities of their departments, highlighting the results and comparisons of their educational programs, which were significantly improved through the scientific coordination. Additionally, they shared remote collaboration initiatives with other departments of ISEC NAS RA. Obviously, efforts had been made to enhance the research and analytical capabilities of students, which address current workforce demands. Of particular note was the increase in the number of students and graduates engaged in various scientific routes at different scientific institutions and institutes or pursuing their PhD studies.

Lecturer Narine Manukyan from the Department of Economics and Management at the International Scientific-Educational Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia presented a successful example of interdepartmental research. Specifically, she discussed the alignment of educational outcomes with market demands from the perspective of the satisfaction of graduates from the Department of Economics and Management's "Business Administration" program for the years 2018-2022.The Dean, Atom Mkhitaryan, informed the participants about the opportunities to apply for the INTERREG NEXT Black Sea Basin cooperation grant program.

At the end of the conference, Narine Vardanyan, the Head of the Quality Assurance Department, conducted a SWOT analysis with the heads of departments. The analysis identified the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in the collaboration between the professional departments of the ISEC NAS RA.
