New cooperation set-up with BEL HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES of Belarus

On April 13, 2022, a meeting was held at the International Scientific-Educational Center of the NAS, RA between the Directorate of ISEC NAS RA and representatives of the international company BEL HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES LLC of Belarus.

Senior R&D Mechanical Engineer Minsk Research Center, Pavel Rudak extended a warm welcome to participants of the meeting by stating that as a leading provider of Information and Communication Technologies, Huawei was concentrated on global educational and research initiatives in the sector of telecommunications, considering that they served as the basis for the development of the industry.

Another representative of BEL HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES LLC, Vladimir Kotov, Head of the Department of Discrete Mathematics and Informatics at Belarusian State University, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, emphasized in his turn the importance of cooperation with the International Scientific-Educational Center of the NAS, RA, which provided wide opportunities for Masters and Postgraduate students to conduct joint scientific research in the field of new technologies and introduce untypical solutions.

By welcoming the guests, the ISEC NAS RA Director A.Sargsyan presented the general structure and scope of Center activities, in particular referring to the affairs of the Departments of Informatics and Computer Engineering, and Radio Engineering and Communication aimed at preparation of highly qualified specialists in the sphere of computer science, information technologies, as well as telecommunications and communication. A.Sargsyan put a high value on cooperation with HUAWEI, which goes in line with the Center's mission to provide quality, competitive education in accordance with labor market requirements, and to strengthen the research component by linking it to educational processes.

Head of the Laboratory of Bioinformatics, the Institute of Biotechnology, NAS RA, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Armen Poghosyan, stated that mutual partnership would draw a great perspective for young scientists to jointly develop and implement innovative ideas through uniting talented young people from different countries around making innovative researches and strategy development in the field of IT.

Head of ISEC NAS RA Foreign Affairs Department A. Harutyunyan briefly presented the guests the scope of activities of the Departments operating in the Center, the effective mechanisms of the student-centered approach, the content components of teaching and research practices, emphasizing the establishment and maintenance of both current and new international cooperation ties.

At the end of the meeting, the representatives of BEL HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES of Belarus were impressed by the Centre's opportunities, which fully met the standards of cooperation with BEL HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES International Company, and expressed readiness to jointly launch a new ICT telecommunication research center in the future.
