Conference on “Strengthening Integrity in Higher Education System”

On November 16-17 a conference on “Strengthening Integrity in Higher Education System” was held in Tsakhkadzor. The conference was organized within the framework of the project of the Council of Europe “Strengthening Integrity in Armenian Higher Education System and Fight Against Corruption”. ISEC NAS RA Deputy Head of the Department “Economics and Management” Aram Simonyan participated in the conference.
Armen Ashotyan, RA Minister of Education and Science, made an opening speech indicating the urgency of overcoming the current challenges in the field. EU Delegation Head in RA, Ambassador Pyotr Switalski, Deputy Head of the EU Office in Yerevan, Naira Avetisyan, and other participants made reports on strengthening integrity in educational system and enhancing transparency issues and their emergence, as well as methods and ways to fight against corruption.
Need for the cooperation between administrative staff and the students was mentioned as vital at the conference since only by joint efforts it is possible to defeat corruption and achieve realistic goals.
During the conference the participants had a chance to introduce the best recorded practices of their educational institutions and discussed possible opportunities for further cooperation.
