AFISHE Project Laboratory Established

On May 29, the official opening of the laboratory-classroom within the framework of "Development of Aquaculture and Fisheries Education for Green Deal in Armenia and Ukraine: FROM EDUCATION TO ECOLOGY" was held at the Scientific Center of Zoology and Hydroecology of NAS RA, which was implemented jointly by International Scientific-Educational Center of NAS RA, Armenian National Agrarian University and the Scientific Center of Zoology and Hydroecology of NAS RA. Established to build an academic environment and equipped with modern equipment, this laboratory will serve as a teaching and research platform for the training of specialists and experienced managers in the field of aquaculture and fish management.

Congratulating the colleagues and participants of the event, the Director of the International Scientific-Educational Center of NAS RA, Armen Sargsyan, emphasized that the establishment of the laboratory is one of the tangible results of the AFISHE project, which will enable us to have a long-lasting positive impact on the development of fish farming and aquaculture in our country by equipping the sector with such high-quality specialists who will be able to work with the latest technologies, methods and technologies.

Sargis Aghayan, Director of Scientific Center of Zoology and Hydroecology of NAS RA, congratulating the participants on the launch of the laboratory, noted, "This is the best example when the scientific organization and universities effectively united their efforts to promote research-based education. Based on the expertise and existing research experience of the Scientific Center of Zoology and Hydroecology of NAS RA, we are ready to provide all the necessary conditions and technical resources for the effective implementation of the master's educational program aimed at aquaculture and fish farming. The equipment acquired within the framework of the project will be used to conduct hydroecological, hydrochemical and hydrophysical research.

Garegin Hambardzumyan, ANAU Project Coordinator, emphasized in his welcome speech. "We are excited that our idea, which was born two years ago, is now completely realistic and has come to life, and this classroom-laboratory created within the framework of the project will serve as a research platform for both the master's educational program and the implementation of valuable and significant research in the field of fish farming.
