Pilgrimage to the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin
On June 8 of this year, under the sponsorship of Kamar Tour and KAMAR REALTY, and on the initiative of the Student Council of ISEC NAS RA and the Armenian Church Youth World Association (ACYOWorld), a pilgrimage was organized to the spiritual and administrative center of the Armenian Apostolic Church — the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. The Mother See was founded at the site of Christ’s descent and constructed by St. Gregory the Illuminator under King Trdat III.
Within this educational and observational pilgrimage, ISEC NAS RA Master’s students had the opportunity, accompanied by Deacon Galust and a guide, to visit the library of the Mother See, the churches of St. Hripsime and St. Gayane, the Ruben Sevak Museum, and the Gevorgian Seminary — the oldest higher educational institution in Armenia still operating today.
Participants also visited the treasury, where exhibits from various Armenian communities over time have been collected, covering a wide geographical area. These artifacts reflect the skills of Armenian masters from different periods, their high creative spirit, and a unique sense of aesthetic beauty.
The pilgrimage aimed to familiarize students with the history of our centuries-old sacred sites and to introduce them to the cultural values of Armenia.
