The Directorate of the ISEC NAS RA Participated in the Meeting of the Scientific Council of the International Association of Academies of Sciences

On December 10 this year, the 2nd meeting of the Scientific Council of the International Association of Academies of Sciences was held in Moscow, dedicated to the development of education. It was conducted in a hybrid format, combining face-to-face and online participation, with the participation of participants from many member countries of this association.

First, welcoming words were heard from officials of the Russian Federation and representatives of the association member countries, then thematic reports were presented, accompanied by discussions. Director of the International Scientific and Educational Center of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia Armen Sargsyan with an online connection and Deputy Director on Educational Affairs Yerjanik Zargaryan with in-person participation took part in this important international event.

Director A. Sargsyan, welcoming the organizers and participants, stressed the importance of organizing such international events. Touching upon the issue of inclusive education, A. Sargsyan assessed it as one of the problems of modern education that requires special attention and a unified approach. In his speech, inclusive education was assessed as the basis for the development of a fair and democratic society, a society in which every person, regardless of their characteristics, will have equal opportunities for self-expression. A. Sargsyan touched upon the existence of the necessary legislative norms dedicated to inclusive education in the Republic of Armenia and pointed out the problems that need to be addressed in the direction of developing inclusive education. Among the latter, the training of inclusive education specialists with practical skills and the provision of an accessible educational environment, access to both buildings and educational materials were highlighted. It was noted that the International Scientific and Educational Center headed by him is constantly working with international partners to find effective solutions to the issue of inclusive education.

Deputy Director Yerjanik Zargaryan in his report "The Concept of Inclusive Education in the International Scientific and Educational Center of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia" touched upon the process of introducing inclusive education in the International Scientific and Educational Center of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia, outlining the types of needs of inclusive students, the steps planned and implemented to achieve them.

The meeting was held in a productive atmosphere of constructive discussions and exchange of experience.
