ISEC Continues Implementation of Strategic Agenda on Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation

July 15, 2026

On July 13, the International Scientific-Educational Center of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia (ISEC NAS RA) hosted a seminar led by the Acting Director, PhD in Technical Sciences, Armen Sargsyan. The session was dedicated to the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in higher education and the ongoing digital transformation processes within the Center.

During the seminar, a number of key issues concerning the development of modern universities were discussed, including the role of artificial intelligence in educational and scientific activities, the cultivation of a culture of responsible AI tool usage, as well as their alignment with ISEC's strategic priorities.

In recent years, ISEC has consistently pursued a digital transformation policy aimed at building a modern, flexible educational environment aligned with international standards. A key element of this process is the integration of artificial intelligence tools—an initiative spearheaded and coordinated by Armen Sargsyan as a cornerstone of the Center's long-term development strategy.

During the seminar, Armen Sargsyan presented a series of digital solutions developed using AI tools, which have already entered the implementation phase. Most notably, he introduced the new "Student Portal," designed to digitize student services, enhance information accessibility, and elevate the overall student educational experience.

The newly launched platform integrates the management of educational processes, academic progress tracking, document flow, and other services into a single unified ecosystem, laying the practical foundations for the "One Digital Campus" concept at ISEC.

The seminar also outlined the subsequent phases of ISEC’s digital evolution, which include launching AI-supported educational and research programs, organizing AI literacy courses, optimizing digital management systems, and developing new formats for international educational and scientific collaboration.

During the meeting, ISEC staff members shared their own experiences with utilizing AI tools. They discussed both the practical opportunities and the challenges that artificial intelligence introduces to higher education, while offering valuable feedback and suggestions regarding the AI solutions currently deployed at ISEC.

Concluding the discussion, Armen Sargsyan emphasized that the necessity of adopting AI has already been settled within the global education system. Today, the primary task facing modern universities is to foster a culture of literate, responsible, and effective integration of these tools.

The core message of the seminar, capturing ISEC’s development vision, was summarized in the following quote:

"We do not prepare for the future; we create it."

This philosophy underpins the entirety of the Center's completed, ongoing, and upcoming initiatives, all of which are geared toward establishing ISEC as a modern hub for knowledge, innovation, digital transformation, and international collaboration.
