On February 13th the International Scientific-Educational Center of NAS RA welcomed a new international partner. A cooperation agreement was signed between ISEC NAS RA and Rossotrudnichestvo, with Armen Sargsyan, Director of ISEC, and Vadim Fefilov, Head of the Armenian Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo, acting as the signatories.
Rossotrudnichestvo is a federal agency that focuses on issues related to the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), supporting compatriots living abroad, and promoting international humanitarian cooperation. It carries out extensive initiatives in the fields of science, education, and culture, with offices in Armenia operating under the name "Russian House" in Yerevan and Gyumri.
The signed agreement aims to foster cooperation on joint projects related to education, science, culture, the development of the Russian language, and other areas of humanitarian collaboration.
In his welcoming speech, Armen Sargsyan highlighted the importance of the partnership: "This partnership is of great importance to us, as tourism is a key priority both nationally and within our Center. That is why, when discussions about this initiative began, I welcomed it with enthusiasm, recognizing its potential to drive meaningful improvements in the tourism sector—not only in Yerevan but also in Gyumri."
"In previous years, we focused more on cultural projects. However, recently, we have shifted our emphasis towards science and now have experts who can implement these initiatives at the highest level,” Vadim Fefilov noted in his speech.
During the meeting, both parties exchanged information about their respective structures and the strategic steps they have undertaken, outlining key directions for further steps.
At the outset of their collaboration, both parties expressed mutual interest in working together, particularly in the tourism sector. As a first step, they agreed on a joint project: the "Tourist Guide School," which will offer professional development courses for tour guides in Gyumri.
