March 5, 2025
On March 5th, 2025, the administrative staff conference took place at the International Scientific-Educational Center of NAS RA. The meeting, headed by Director Armen Sargsyan, focused on a recent proposal to establish cooperation with the Swedish university system.
The proposal was presented by the Armenian graduates' network from Sweden, which consists of individuals who studied in Sweden and have taken on the mission of promoting Swedish education in Armenia. In this context, an event titled "Sweden Alumni Talk: Opportunities for Education and Collaboration in Sweden" was held in Yerevan on February 26, to which ISEC and various other Armenian universities were invited. The event featured participation from the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden in Armenia, Patrick Svensson. The ISEC was represented by Dean Atom Mkrtchyan and Leading specialist in the Foreign Affairs Department, Diana Khuzatyan.
Dean Atom Mkhitaryan presented the issues discussed at the aforementioned event, followed by Diana Khuzatyan, who summarized the information shared in the presentation. Ella Papikian, head of the Foreign Affairs Department shared the current results of the ongoing analysis conducted in the department regarding the received information and provided her insights on it. The proposal included opportunities for education, research, training, and scholarships.
Under the leadership of Armen Sargsyan, a constructive discussion ensued, resulting in the decision to pursue the cooperation proposal. This was particularly encouraging given that the areas of collaboration align with the professional fields relevant to ISEC's mission. It was suggested that a more detailed analysis be conducted to effectively adapt the proposal for collaboration with the Swedish education system and to establish new connections with Swedish universities.
