Two More Departments of the ISEC NAS RA Underwent Internal Monitoring
May 12, 2025
Recently, two more departments of the International Scientific-Educational Center of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia (ISEC NAS RA) underwent internal monitoring — the Department of Law and the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology. As with the previously reviewed departments, the process was conducted by the internal monitoring group with the participation of an external expert.
Both departments are among the oldest within the structure of the ISEC, with over two decades of experience.
The Department of Law offers master’s programs in constitutional law, theory of state and law, civil law, and civil procedure. Its graduates continue their careers in Armenia’s public administration and judicial-legal systems.
One of the department’s key strengths is its teaching staff, which includes leading professionals from the country’s judicial and legal sectors, possessing both extensive practical experience and high academic qualifications.
The Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology operates within the Institute of Molecular Biology of NAS RA, making full use of its modern technical and methodological base.
The department is staffed with highly qualified researchers who demonstrate impressive activity in the field of academic publishing, including in peer-reviewed international journals with an impact factor.
A major strength of the department is that all master’s students are involved in the institute’s research projects.
In both cases, along with the departments’ successes, issues encountered during the implementation of educational programs were also presented — including explanations of their causes and proposed solutions.
Members of the monitoring group engaged in active discussion based on the criteria established for the internal monitoring process.
The documentation packages for the educational programs were also reviewed. The documentation provided by the Department of Law received high praise from the monitoring commission.
Both departments left a positive impression on the monitoring group, which was documented in the respective observations. These findings will be discussed in upcoming meetings of the relevant departments at ISEC NAS RA.
