NAS RA Fundamental Scientific Library which is one of the RA well-stocked libraries is at ISEC NAS RA students' disposal.


The Fundamental Scientific Library of the National Academy of Sciences - one of the richest libraries of the Republic of Armenia is at the disposal of students of the International Scientific-Educational Center of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia (ISEC NAS RA).

The Fundamental Scientific Library of NAS RA with its rich collection of books is the largest academic library of RA, a scientific information center providing library, bibliographic, scientific and information services to scientific and research institutions of NAS RA, as well as to other research institutions and specialists of the republic. The Fundamental Scientific Library (FSL) of NAS RA was founded in 1935 attached to the Armenian branch (Armfan) of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR.
The FSL of NAS RA is a multi-profile library. FSL’s most important tasks are as follows: scientific and research activities in the areas of library science, bibliography, information science and book history, implementation of scientific, cultural and information relations with national and foreign libraries, various institutions and information centers, designing modules for the digital library and their introduction, preparation of personnel for scientific and information area.
The FSL fund of NAS RA is rich, consisting of 3,026,776 library units related to Natural, Technical and Humanitarian Sciences, among which 863,156 - in foreign languages. The whole wealth of the library serves more than 16,000 users through individual section service reading-halls. In order to modernize the service of users the computer network has been expanded.
The Fundamental Scientific Library of NAS RA is conducting significant work towards the implementation of scientific and cultural international relations with foreign libraries and various institutions. Over the past years the library has undertaken serious steps towards   the introduction and application of new, modern electronic systems in library and bibliographic activities for the purpose of establishing a digital library. Currently about 445.516 library units have been entered into the bibliography database. All the resources are available to public on http://www.flib.sci.am library web site.
All students of the International Scientific-Educational Center of NAS RA during the study years can extensively make use of all the opportunities and services provided by the Fundamental Scientific Library.
