Workshop «Award Criteria and Quality Standards in PhD Education»

A workshop on «Award Criteria and Quality Standards in PhD Education» within the framework of VERITAS “Structural Development of the Third Cycle Based on Salzburg Principles” EU Tempus Program was organized at Yerevan State University on May 11-13. The workshop has brought together representatives from European universities - WUS, UHMF, UdG, BSU, KTH and representatives from 11 local universities, as well as the RA Ministry of Education and Science, National Center for Professional Education Quality Assurance and NGO “Education Management”.
The workshop aimed at the development of a draft set of quality criteria and indicators based on the European Standards and guidelines for quality assurance and the draft PhD Award Criteria and Indicators for internal and external assessors. During the working group sessions the participants have been trying to define and specify indicators for every given criterion (11 criteria) and further presented their joint vision in a presentation. Representatives from NAS RA Arusyak Harutyunyan, Angela Papikyan and Karine Begoyan took an active part in a three-day seminar.
